Electronic Bulletin Board: Housing / GSAS Students

Terms of Use

Before you sign on to use this site, you must read and agree to the following terms:

1. Website Description
This website is designed as an electronic bulletin board for the exchange of housing information for MA students in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS). Any MA student in GSAS may use this website to seek housing (such as apartment shares, sublets, and the like), or advertise the availability of such housing to other MA students. Columbia faculty members, other Columbia employees and students in other Columbia schools may advertise the availability of housing for GSAS students on this site, but may not use the site to find housing for themselves or anyone other than GSAS students.

2. Columbia Policies Users of the Site must abide by Columbia University’s Computer and Acceptable Use Policy (link) and all other Columbia policies applicable to the use of electronic resources.

Users of the Site may not use or disclose information obtained from the Site, including information provided by other users, for any purpose other than to seek or advertise the availability of housing for GSAS students.

3. Disclaimer

GSAS IS MAKING THIS WEBSITE AVAILABLE FOR THE CONVENIENCE OF ITS STUDENTS AND IS NOT PARTICIPATING AS A PARTY TO ANY TRANSACTION BETWEEN USERS OF THE SITE NOR PLAYING ANY ROLE IN SETTING THE RENTAL RATES OR OTHER COSTS OF ANY HOUSING LISTED ON THIS SITE. GSAS AND COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY DO NOT MAKE ANY REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES AS TO THE CONDITION OF ANY HOUSING ADVERTISED OR MADE AVAILABLE THROUGH THIS WEBSITE AND DO NOT SCREEN OR REVIEW POSTINGS ON THE SITE FOR ACCURACY. COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY AND GSAS DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, WILL BE ACCURATE, OR WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR FREE.

COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY AND GSAS SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE OR LOSS OF ANY KIND ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE AND/OR THE INFORMATION CONTAINED THEREIN.

4. Privacy Policy
GSAS may use the information provided by users for internal purposes, such as improving the usability of the website and gathering statistical information. However, GSAS has no control over what users of the Site will do with any information you provide. While all users are required to comply with the University’s Computer and Acceptable Use Policy, GSAS and Columbia University do not monitor or screen the site to ensure compliance with such Policy and Columbia University and GSAS do not accept any responsibility or liability for the misuse of information by users of the site or any other violation of the terms of use for the site.
